The
annual match between East Garston and Wantage 41 Club was
held on Sunday 3rd July at Letcombe Regis. This match is
played in memory of Roy Hunt and the Roy Hunt cup is treasured
by whichever team wins. Roy was for many years a member
of Wantage 41 Club and was of course the founder of the
present East Garston Cricket Club. Roy's widow Jill always
presents the trophy and this year Russell Highnett (Captain)
was delighted to accept it for East Garston.
On
Sunday 4th September a match was played at the Lambourn
ground for the Stan Moore Trophy. This impressive trophy
was given by Stan & Sara Moore for an annual match to
be played against a team from The Plough, Eastbury. This
match is always good fun with lots of good natured banter.
Sara Moore presented the trophy to Russell Highnett Captain
of victorious East Garston.
