On
Sunday 27th June the Roy Hunt Memorial match was held
at the Woodlands.
Roy Hunt who used to live in the Burfords formed the present
Cricket Club to play a match against the Wantage 41 Club
of which he was a member.
When
Roy died it was decided to play a memorial match between
Wantage 41 Club and East Garston every season. Unfortunately
the 41 Club can no longer field a team and the match did
not take place last year, however East Garston Cricket
Club felt they would like to continue the Memorial match
in some form to honour Roy’s memory so this year the first
inter club match took place.
Roy’s
widow Jill presented the trophy to Tom Highnett captain
of East Garston Youth XI
