The
Cricket Club Treasure Hunt ~ 2008

On
Sunday April 27th East Garston Cricket Club held a car treasure
hunt which was set by Nigel and Sue Hayes. Nine cars
were set off at five minute intervals from the Bell at Boxford.
All nine cars were successful in following the clues and ultimately
found the village hall at East Garston as the end of the hunt.
As
well as following the clues to find their way "home"
the entrants had to put names to photos taken of various buildings,
landmarks etc., do a collection of items that could be found
on their journey and fill in the answers to a local trivia
quiz. It was therefore quite an achievement that the winning
car only had two pairs of eyes - Alan Breadmore and Peter
Cook!! ~ Well done Alan and Peter.
In second place was Russell, Emma
and Tom Highnett and in third was Colin and Bonnie Pounds
and Mick and William Highnett. Sue had prepared a
fantastic cold lunch with a hot sponge pudding for afters
which was thoroughly enjoyed by all the entrants. A thoroughly
enjoyable social event for the cricket club which also made
a profit of £100 for the Cricket Club funds.
