Easter Egg Hunt
East Garston Social Club Children's Easter Egg Hunt
This
year in East Garston we saw our first documented Easter Egg Hunt,
and so it was on Sunday the 24th April 2011, twenty-six excited
children gathered at the Village Hall to decorate ordinary eggs
in any way they wished. The ultimate prize for the winner being
the conversion of the decorated egg into that most wonderful of
commodities ~ CHOCOLATE-!! |
Almost
a full tray off very colourful decorated eggs - as unique and individual
as the younsters that created them |
Chloe
O’Brien won the much anticipated 1st prize for her beautifully decorated
egg. Once the cleaning up had been completed, we all moved outside to the Social Club car park, to start the Easter Egg Hunt itself. |
Deana
explains that the idea was to find a plastic egg, return it, and
it would be replaced with a chocolate one! |
Over
twenty children set off, running round the field with faces covered
in expectation, (not chocolate, that would come later).
The sheer joy expressed by the youngsters when they found a plastic egg, was reward enough for any adult present. |
A
fun day was had by all and we really must thank Phil Talbot for
his generosity and kindness in donating all the chocolate Easter
Eggs. Thank You Phil, you can be sure that your goodwill gesture towards our younger residents was highly appreciated by us all. |
